Hi,

I have applied for PR, Once I get my PR, start working in Canada & earn required salary to sponsor my family.
Can I sponsor PR for my sister's minor daughter? I would appreciate your guidance.

While sponsoring PR, can she visit Canada on visitor's visa, if yes, what is maximum period for which a visitor can stay in Canada?
(e.g. in USA it is up to 6 months).

Thanks,
pooja.

You cannot sponsor your niece unless she is an orphan.

no altenative else is their.............u can share ur timeline of pr appplication just if u want

You may be able to sponsor your sister and her family for PR if you take up residence in Saskatchewan or Manitoba but you would have to be living there for a year before you can apply and you and your sister would both have to meet other requirements. You would not be able to sponsor your niece on her own under this program while she is still a minor.

Hi
you could sponsor her by officially adopting her but you must be able to show that:
-1)The adoption is not for the sole purpose of immigrating to Canada (There must be a desire and a need of parenting)

-2)The adoption must break all links with the biological parents(something a bit hard to achieve for your niece if her parents are still alive)

Good luck

Thanks to all of you for replying and sharing valuable information; as of now it seems impossible,
- as points mentioned by Ario are not possible.
- information suggested by Leon could be helpful (I was not aware of this), but not sure about how is job market in those states...

Thanks a lot for replying.

They are actually the two provinces with the lowest unemployment rates at just over 5% and that is why they make it so easy for you to bring your family members, because they want more people. However, that doesn't say anything about what kind of jobs they are. Depending on what you do, you might have better opportunities elsewhere but elsewhere will not help you sponsor your family. Pros and cons.

Thanks a lot for further information. I am IT Manager working with one of big IT company in USA. I have impression, that Toronto (& near by area) are the best for such jobs. But after getting this information, I will start exploring these two states also.
Your information is a great help.
