sponsor approval and welfare?

so is it possible in any way that after some one has been approved at the first stage as a sponsor but can be declined later on in the process? bcz the person who's sponsoring thier spouse took welfare for a yr and applied for sponosrhsiop right away after getting off welfare, no income or savings either, no employment in the past but got approved as a sponsor.

As long as the sponsor doesn't go back and apply for welfare again during the sponsorship process then the likelihood they would be later denied is almost nil.

If the sponsor has been approved and then goes back to get welfare, then yes, indeed the sponsor can fail at a later stage and the applicant be denied based on sponsor not meeting qualifications.

it depends on when the welfare ended and what the specific circumstances are in the application. there is no "error". I highly doubt CIC would send an eligiblity letter to a sponsor who wasn't qualified to be a sponsor. there are many people approved as sponsors who don't have jobs or an income. that's not the only benchmark they use in determining eligibility. i'd imagine there are also successful sponsors who have had a history of using welfare. again, it all comes down to WHEN the sponsor was/is on welfare. they can't be on welfare when the application is submitted. is the sponsor currently on welfare or intends to be on welfare while the application is processing? if not, then relax.

I quite agree with rhcohen2014, my sponsor was on social welfare for a couple months before we submitted our application. We provided many documents to show he is no long on social welfare, also financial info to let cic know how we plan to support ourselves in Canada. We got sponsor approved email months ago, our application is currently waiting for processing at local visa office.
