Hello everyone,

I have been searching over internet but I haven’t had any luck yet. I have decided to ask you guys.

My husband and I married. He is going to sponsor me but there is a problem. He has been sentenced to 4 months house arrest. While he is in house arrest he will continue to work at his current job. We will be perfectly fine financially.

My question is, Can he sponsor me while he is in house arrest?

I have checked internet and ask people who does immigration applications as a job and even they have no idea about my question.

I really need a help

Thank you

It depends on what the charge was. There is a thread here, so the internet has some discussion about it. The IMM1344 form asks you "have you been conviceted of a sexual offence or serious violent offence against anyone, or an offence causing bodily harm against someone who is or was related to you, or an attempt to commit such an offence?"

If the answer to that question is "yes," the answer to your question is "no."
