Hi all,
I am sponsored PR (husband sponsored for spouse under family class) since 1 year. My husband is PR in Canada since 4 years.
I am part-time employee since last 8 month. I havnt filed taxes yet as this will be my first year of taxation. I am planning to call my mother as PR of Canada. She is 53 years old provincial government employee.
So please do help me with my following concern.
1. Under what category shall i apply?
2. Who would be an appropriate eligible candidate to sponsor her, me or my husband?
3. Does the age of my mother matter for PR?
4. How does the health problem matters for the PR application?
5. What all documents of my mother would be required for PR process?

Please do help me with your expert opinion.
I would appreciate your prompt feedback.
Thanks in anticipation.

1. There is only the PGP program, which is closed and delayed right now.

2. Only you can sponsor her. Your husband can co-sign.

3. No.

4. Yes. She must pass the medical.

5. No one knows what the new program will look like. You can go look at the application to see last year's requirements.

Would warn you that the demand for parent sponsorship is much higher than spots so you can try to sponsor your mother if you qualify this year but you must also make plans knowing she may not get PR.

Thanks for input. i am thinking of these following options . Please do comment on this.
Plan B - can i sponsor her as grandparent? Number of intake for parent v/s grandparent applicant are separate ?
Plan C - how about supervisa?

Thanks in anticipation.

She isn't your grandparent, so of course not.

Sure, she can apply for a supervisa. However, that does not allow her to live to Canada.

.
From the previous few years, parents and grandparents applications shared the same qouta and/or lottery. There is no different intake limit for each type. Even if they do... they are your parents so you cannot "make them" your grandparents in the application.

As others have commented you do have the supervisa option if you qualify if you mother wants to live in Canada longterm. Given your timeline I suspect that there is a good chance you may be expecting. Your mother can visit but she is expected to return home at some point so you can’t count on her providing longterm childcare forever unless she eventually does get PR.

Hi All,
Continuing with above scenario,
1. Can I file for supervisa , being on maternity leave and benefits?
2. Can I file for PR once she arrives on supervisa?
3. I might visit my birth country see my Mom during pregnancy , can I file for supervisa being in my birth country( not physically present in Canada)?

Thanks all in advance.

Your responses are much appreciated.
