Hello,

I was in the process of submitting my citizenship application when I noticed a spelling mistake in my last name. Unfortunately, I realized this after signing the application and uploading the payment receipt.

Thankfully, I have not yet submitted the application. Is there a way to correct the spelling of my last name before proceeding with the final submission?

I would appreciate your guidance on how to resolve this.

Thank you,

I don't think the application can be changed after it has been signed.

I'd recommend you reach out to IRCC via webform, or try giving them a call about what to do.

If this doesn't get anywhere, from memory I believe the payment receipt is not tied to any specific application. In theory, you could just not submit this application, and create a new one instead with the correct last name, and attach the same payment receipt.

That's a lot of work though, so I would still recommend you contact IRCC to get instructions on how to deal with this.

thanks for the inputs, i saw the refund option on the payment portal and requested for the refund as i was in confusion back then ( i was in the impression that the payment is for this application) I will touch base with IRRC and see what can be done in this situation.
