There's in an extra alphabet in my husband's name in the bank statement of one of my saving bank a/cs that I'm showing.. will it be okay?

Something like, instead of ROGER, it's ROGEAR..

The bank won't change it because that's how it is in their records

You hve to trace how it became an error in the first place. Usually when you open an account they ask you for an official identification and that identification has to match with the bank record.

Show the identification attached to the bank statement so there are no confusions.

If you don't have that id or if the bank indeed made a mistake you will have to first change the name with the bank and then you can attempt to use that account.

Jalex, it is the main account as my father from US remits his salary to that a/c so it would help my mother to show source of income as she is only a housewife. Now the bank says that it's the name in their records and they can't change it. I will try again tomorrow by taking a passport copy of my father to correct the name, but if they refuse, do you suggest not sending this bank statement at all? But again, it's the main account as I said.

Is this really that big of a deal? I mean, I will be attaching my father's US bank statements too.

As I said you need to find out the origin of the mistake. After you find it out then the bank can tell you what to do.

I don't know how all this works or if it is important. BTW the account is from your father or from your husband? OP says it is from husband.... then it changes to father....
