Spam on the boards late at night.

I report any spam I find. In the past, after individually reporting multiple (10 or more) posts by the same user in a short time frame, I received a message from the board admin saying that it was not necessary to report each post. Now I report only one post by each user who spams. I find that, for a board as large and active as this one, the admin team does a pretty great job taking the trash out.

That's good to know!!! Cause I was overwhelmed by the amount of spam the night I posted this thread. Now I can just report each user!

I've actually gone to the trouble of downloading and installing this forums software (albeit the most recent version).

I now understand that the built-in spam protection on here is minimal and why the board administrators/moderators have to do manual removals.

It would be possible to upload a big table of "*censored word*" and "*spam*" triggers directly via SQL, but doing it manually is very labour intensive and slow.

Looks like we are stuck with the problem....

Yeah I've noticed on most websites that forums aren't very... sophisticated?
Guess I'll try and fix my sleep schedule so I'm not always checking late at night lol
