Spam on the boards late at night.

I've tried reporting a couple of them but there's just so many -_-
Is there any way we can get that to stop??

Probably not unless the whole security methods of the boards change
Ie. Not allowing people to create threads until they've posted a certain number of times, or until their account is a few days old.. Etc.

Damn.... it's super annoying scrolling through the whole first page and just seeing all that spam.

I report it on a regular basis. I have also messaged two of the Admin users. So far, I have received no acknowledgment to my messages, let alone a meaningful response. I have noticed that the problem is escalating. A couple of days ago, we had over 400 Spam posts in a 4 hour period. I watched it happen for the full 4 hours and was so frustrated that nothing was being done...

In other words, don't hold your breath.. It seems to be a low priority to the board administrators...

They Spam to get money out of superstitious and gullible people. It's ALWAYS about the money.
It's done late at night because the spam can remain on the forum for a long time before Canada wakes up the next day and the spam is removed. Think about the time zone differences...

he seems to be quite knowledgeable and claims to be able to solve many different types of problems.

but going through his previous posts...with all the skills he advertises, he never mentioned that he can solve the problem of "Canadian experience for newcomers", seems he's aware that its a difficult issue

I really don't know why they bother... I think that the word has got around that spamming this site is easy, so there are more of them every night. I gave up this morning (UK time) from even trying to find new important posts.. I'll wait until it's been cleaned up again. Current count 130 messages by about 8 different, brand new, accounts.

I report any spam I find. In the past, after individually reporting multiple (10 or more) posts by the same user in a short time frame, I received a message from the board admin saying that it was not necessary to report each post. Now I report only one post by each user who spams. I find that, for a board as large and active as this one, the admin team does a pretty great job taking the trash out.
