Someone I know from England is visiting Canada for a month. He has applied, 2 months ago, for a work permit through IEC. The problem is that during his stay in Canada he is planning on working and, quite possibly, not leaving when his time is up. He has been bragging on Facebook that he has applied for jobs.
He is only one week into his visit and he has already been employed by a house removal company. He has worked for two days so far. He even has the company shirt! Apparently his boss is going to try to help him stay.
Is it really possible that he would be allowed to stay on in Canada and work even though his work permit results are pending? This is his first visit to Canada and he's only been here for a week. He has hardly any money. and no stable accomodation. Is he really that naive to think it is this easy to stay here?
I went through a lot of hassle to get my permanent residency, even though I was married to a Canadian and had a child. I had to fly back and forth in between. It just makes me so frustrated that he thinks it's going to be easy for him to stay. Furthermore, how can this removal company allowed to get away with it?!
