Hi, I am nearly at the finish point of the preparation of all the stuff, now having the following questions. Wondering if any can help

1 IMM0008 - I have no dependents (as I was not married and have no kids), so about the last section- dependents of this generic form, should I just leave the boxes blank ?

2. IMM 0008DEP - The same, I don't need to fill out any info on this form, should I just leave all the boxes blank , and sign at the end OR I don't even need to sign and submit ?

3. I don't need a representative, so I dont need to submit IMM5476 (Use of a Rep) , right ?

Below are the questions I found after reading the country-specific (Hong Kong)

4. I saw on the checklist - immigration forms, I need to put together the Sponsor Questionnaire (IMM5540) , but isn't this supposed to be submitted with other documents on my husband;s side? (He's sponsoring me to Canada) ?

5. On the country-specific guideline, it says I need to submit - declaration from Non-Accompanying Parent/ Guardian for Minors Immigrating to Canada (IMM5604). Same as above, it's not applicable on me, but what should I do about this? Need I submit it with my signature on it ?

6. I saw somewhere form the guideline, that I need to include 5 photos of each member of your family member and yourself taken within the last 6 months ? I only have my parents and my brother as family members and they are not going to Canada, nor will I sponsor them in the future. So what does it mean ? Do I just need to submit my own passport pictures, right ?

7. I saw from the guideline - Supplement to Schedule 1 - Background/ Declaration, do I need fill it out ? I bet I just need to put a "NO" on the question about whether I was married before and have kids, and sign and submit, that's it ?

Thanks in advance for your answers !

Hi

1. You can Remove the Dependents section entirely.

2. Don't need it. N/A on the checklist.

3. No rep, you don't include it. N/A on the checklist.

4. Yes, your husband submits that with his forms, you can just check off that he has included it.

5. N/A on the checklist.

6. Just your own. Anytime CIC refers to family, they mean your spouse and children. As your spouse is your sponsor, you don't need photos for him.

7. Yes, fill that out. If you've never been married or in a common-law relationship before, tick no for both and sign.

in regards to the answer I bolded ... his sponsorship paperwork along with HER application paperwork all has to be submitted together, they are not submitted separately, just so the OP is clear about that.

Thanks for your quick answers !
I will just check the box of Sponsor Questionnaire on the checklist, as I will send everything to my husband and he will include this form anyway.
Just wondering why this item is not on the checklist of my husband's.

Just a few more questions -

1. About the Sponsored spouse questionnaire, there are questions like Q9, Q15 asking the evidence of relationship development and wedding. I have added separate sheets enclosing pictures addressing to these questions specifically. I think these 2 questions covered most of the photos needed to be submitted, so I didn't add any other photos on my another set of documents called Supporting proof as I don't want to repeat the same stuff, just to thicken the whole application package. Is it OK? Just want to see how you guys organized the application set.

2. On the checklist, I saw "Non-accompanying Family members declaration "to be signed by a notary. In my case, no previous children and not married before, just put a NA on the checklist , right ? I dont see a clear guideline of how to disposed of documents which are not applicable.

1. I separated it into 3 groups: Sponsor forms, Applicant forms and Proof of Relationship. No need to duplicate anything; if something has already been included, just reference where it is in the package.

2. People do it a few ways. I simply put N/A on the checklist to anything that didn't apply. Others included the form but write N/A in big letters across it. And others didnt include the form but added a separate page explaining why they didn't include it.

Got it ! Thanks, I think I will follow you and just put N/A on the checklist.
I think I will just follow my own idea of the organization. There is no standard organization anyway.

One more question, now I am pregnant and due next March. I will give birth in Hong Kong. Do you think if I should include a doctor's cert in the package that I am pregnant, to make it a stronger case ?

Yes, I would say to include proof of the pregnancy.

Have you already done the medical for your application?

I will do it next weekend. :D S

I think the reason he was asking if you had done your medical, you now won't be able to have your x-rays done and will have to wait until after your baby's birth to get them done, which will halt your application processing until after that point in time ....

You should know that there are x-rays as part of the medical. Because you are pregnant, it is NOT recommended that you do x-rays because it could harm your child. You can proceed with your application without the x-ray part of medical, but basically your file will end up sitting in the HK visa office waiting for you to give birth and then take the x-rays to finish the medical. Because of this, you should expect some delay in your processing.

Also do you know if your child will be an automatic Canadian citizen? This will depend on status of the father. If the child is Canadian you will just get a passport and don't need to add to application. However if the child is not Canadian upon birth, then you'll need to add to the application as a dependent and this will also cause some more delays.

I will give birth in March, so anyone has an idea that by then I need to tell CIC that I can do the X-ray, or just wait until they send me some letter asking me to do it ? Thanks for your guys' reminder that it will delay the process, but seems can't have an alternative, as I cant have the X-ray now. Just read that the processing time in HK office is only 9 months, which is encouraging.
And I think my case is pretty straightforward, hopefully, I will get the visa next August, so I can move to Canada next September. :)

My husband is a born Canadian, so I guess my baby will be a Canadian automatically , right ?
I still have to email Consulate of Canada in Hong Kong about the process of getting my baby the Canadian passport.

When you go next week to the medical, the doctor will note your pregnancy and inform CIC. You can complete the rest of the medical next week but the results will be held until the X-ray can be added.

Your child will be Canadian. You will first need to apply for a Certificate of Citizenship for him/her; posted processing time is about 9-10 months. With proof of that application and travel plans, you can apply for a temporary Canadian passport for the baby.

I am also a she and I do not know why I just assume that others must be a he or a she based on their screen name! LOL My apologies :D

for my baby girl, it needs 9-10 months for the processing of the citizenship ?
That's long.
My plan is to move to Canada around end -March when the baby turns 6 months.
So I assume that I will need to buy air tickets to show I am moving , then submit this to CIC Hong Kong, and they will issue temp. passport for my baby. Do you know how long this temp. passport application will take?

Yes, 9-10 months when the app is submitted outside Canada.

I believe it takes around a month to get the passport. There might be an option to have it processed urgently, you would need to check with the Hong Kong office.
