Hi guys ..i am posting this topic to help my friend ..he's from Ontario area and he under refugee status here since 2012..his refugee claim application still under review and last year Sept 2013 he got married here with single mom and he filed one more application under spousal sponsor..he filed his application through immigration lawyer on Nov/28/2013 but Until now he never received his AOR ....WHAT HE CAN DO IN THIS SITUATION ???PLEASE ADVISE ??THANKS

Since he used a lawyer, he needs to keep calling them if THEY were the ones that actually mailed his application. CIC will be communicating directly with the lawyers office, since they are his representative, so it's possible that they have received his AOR, but they haven't managed to find the time to let him know...yet.

He can a) wait patiently or b) contact the CIC call centre to see if the application was received. I can't think of anything else that he *could* do.

To be honest, if I was looking at his application, the very first thing that I would think is "Marriage of Convenience" as a backup to a refugee refusal. Just my opinion of course...

Thanks for reply guys ..by the way i just called up my friend , he told me he's on PRA (SOMETHING FAST WAY FOR REFUGEE CLAIM )since Dec 2012 but till now he never received any decision from Government About his PRA (REFUGEE)Case ....He Told me Actually time for PRA(REFUGEE) Case Max 12 months but its already now 1 year plus but he never heard any thing from Government yet...
GUYS HE JUST WANNA KNOW .....
IS HIS PRA(REFUGEE) APPLICATION GONNA EFFECT HIS SPOUSAL APPLICATION OR NOT ?
IS GOVERNMENT GONNA DEPORT HIM SAME TIME IF HIS PRA(REFUGEE) APPLICATION GET REJECTED??
AS I TOLD U GUYS HE ALREADY SENT HIS PR APPLICATION UNDER SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP ON 28/11/2013..BUT HE NEVER
RECEIVED HIS AOR YET .
WHATS GONNA HAPPEN IF HE GOT HIS PRA(REFUGEE) APPLICATION DECISION NEGATIVE WHILE HIS
SPOUSAL APPLICATION STILL UNDER REVIEW ..ARE THEY GONNA DEPORT HIM OR THEY GONNA GIVE HIM TIME
TILL HIS SPOUSAL APPLICATION UNDER PROCESS ?? THANKS GUYS

If the refugee claim is denied, then if he submitted also an inland spousal application generally CIC will not deport him until a decision has been reached for stage 1 (10-11 months from submitting the application). If the decision is positive for stage 1, then he can continue to stay in Canada until stage 2 and full PR is granted.

Yes a refugee application can have a negative effect on spousal PR app, because it can look like the applicant is desperate to stay in Canada. It just means they will look at the spousal PR app a lot closer, and could take a longer time or require interview.
