I have been reading around for PR and citizenship but still have some doubts-experts please help:
a.The PR card is issued for 5 years.(I am assuming the start date of the PR card is the date when it's issued and not when you enter the country)
Do we need to stay for minimum of 730 days(which is close to 2 years)out of 5 years for PR card validity?
If we stay for just 2 years, then are we eligible to apply for renewal after PR card expiry? What are the chances that it will get renewed considering that one has stayed only for 2 years etc?Again does it gets renewed for another 5 years
b.Regarding citizenship,it seems we need to stay for 3 years out of 4 years(preceding the citizenship application)
Does this mean that we need to stay in Canada for 3 years and we can apply for it's citizenship thereafter? This is despite that PR card is still valid since it's valid for 5 years).Just thinking if someone gets his PR card today and if he is eligible to apply for citizenship after 3 years of stay?
What are the chances of getting the citizenship?Any other things they see in particular etc
c.What are the advantages of getting the citizenship vis-a-vis PR card?Needless to mention that one of them is one is not reqd. to have this binding of staying for minimum number of years etc etc which si there with PR card-are there any other benefits?
Do kids enjoy more privilege while applying for higher studies if they are a citizen compared to PR?
Thnx in advance
