Hello all,

I've been contemplating over the last few weeks what I should bring with me when I receive my COPR and thought this would make for an interesting topic for those who have already made their move into Canada!

So what did you take with you?

Or what do you regret not taking with you?

Is there anything that you did bring that you sit there and say "Why in the world did I bring that?"

I'm sure it depends a lot on how far away you live and what kind of money you have. My husband when he comes here from Costa Rica will just get to bring what we can get into suitcases. Unfortunately we were married in Costa Rica and have lots of kitchen dishes (nice ones) that will get given to his family as well as a beautiful wardrobe that my grandfather paid to have made for us. Nice things but we don't have the money to have it shipped here by boat and then trucked to the prairies from BC. Lol

When i came 28 years ago, i brought whatever i could fit into the crate they supplied to us for the amount of money we could afford. I still have some things i brought all that time ago.Now my new husband when he comes we are bring clothes and personal photos etc .A few bowls that was from his mum and our cat and his tools that he can not part from lol

I will be taking one suitcase of clothes- maybe two if I can afford to buy another one. I will have what's left. I'm lucky (I suppose) because I live with my parents and have very few possessions of my own I can't bear to part with. My knitting needles, some plush animals, a few books and a blanket.
