So my husband and I trying to apply to extend his stay here in canada. He is american. His PR is in process so we got a medical done. Now one of the questionaire questions is asking if he has had a medical done in the last 12 months. He got it done in august of 2016.

We hit yes and it asks us to do a medical. So medical must be done to extend his stay?!

No, you just upload a copy of the receipt from the medical he did last August. No need to do another one.

We lost the reciept..now what

Contact the Panel Physician your husband saw for his physical, and ask them to email or mail you a copy. They're required to keep the info on eMedical for at least a year, if not longer.

Okay thank you so much!!

Something doesn't sound right here. Since when do you have to do a medical for a visitor status extension, especially for an American? What are you filling out? And if you hit "yes" why would you need another one?

Unless they changed something recently, that's not correct. My husband did like 7 visitor extensions or more and never had to do a medical.

Edit: I went through the questionnaire. All it is asking for if you hit "yes" is a medical receipt, not a medical exam. He doesn't need a medical exam, if you hit "no" it asks you about some medically sensitive professions, which aren't relevant.

Read my edit. ;) You're doing it wrong, it's just not relevant to you. You can still provide the receipt.

I applied for an extension in December, and it asked me for the medical exam receipt. No problem providing that.

wait for the receipt and then submit the extension application.

he doesn't have to redo the medical. he just has to prove he has done it already.

The office cant re print the receipt because they said the medical is already sent to cic so we would have to do another they said.

that's nonsense. printing the receipt has nothing to do with the actual exam results. ask to speak to someone in charge. if they are persistent, then get the medical identification number, advise them you will be notifying IRCC about their inability to print receipts and explain the issue in the extension application, noting the PR application file number and medical number.

I needed my Panel Physician to reprint the eMedical receipt after I noticed an error. They looked me up by last name and date of visit, made the correction, then reprinted the receipt. You might have to get insistent with them, but they can reprint it.
