i am a canadian citizen snowbird, he is usa citizen, we both do not work.
if we get maried, after married, I like to keep as a snowbird, to stay in usa five months in the winter, and he visit me as tourist five months in the summer. I do not want to apply for usa green card, and he does not want to apply for PR of Canada. However, when i filed canada income tax or He file usa income tax, we both need to report our marriage.
my questions:
1. By declare marriage in our income tax return, can USA custom officer know our marriage when I am at usa custom? or can Canada boarder agent know our mariage when he is at Canada custom? can i and he be denied entry because of it?

2. If i do not tell the custom about marriage, Can i like before just declare my trip is for winter vacation ( which is true) , can they find out i am married and deny my entry?
2b: if i tell the usa boarder agent about the marriage to usa citizen, and tell them I will come back after winter( have a house in canada), will i be denied entry?

3. If i want to keep as snowbird and spent only winter in usa after the marriage, legalally what should i do?
thank you
lisa

Don't know about the USA, CRA doesn't disclose your information unless you give written consent or when authorized by law.

Telling lies to custom officials is never a good idea.

PS. You are posting in the wrong section of the forum.

Thank you for your respond. I do not want to tell lies to custom Officer that’s why ask what to do .

You are allowed to visit spouses who live in other countries. As US an Canadian citizens you likely won't face a ton of problems. Your biggest issue is likely healthcare while each is visiting the other country.
