Snail mail question

Hello again!

I am worried about this.

Which parts of the application process are done by snail mail? The only reason I am asking is because the post system here in Guatemala is slow, unreliable and random. Sometimes you get your mail, sometimes you don't. Sometimes you get it weeks later.

I will be mailing the actual application from Canada when I do a quick visit in April, so that's no issue.

Do you get notifications by mail, or email? I am assuming the passport will have to be sent in and returned at some point if the application is successful? I'm hoping that this part will be done in the embassy in Guatemala and we can just drop it off in person..

Any thoughts or advice on this would be lovely!

If you provide an email address, that is how CIC will communicate with you.

Ok, will they email me (the sponsor) or the applicant?

What about the passport thing?

The will email the sponsor prior to sponsor approval. After that, they will email the applicant because the issue/question would pertain to him/her, since the sponsor is, in essence, done.

Sorry, can't answer the passport question but at the very least you could use a courier (ala FedEx, DHL, etc.) if it needs to be sent to CIC.
