Skilled worker program vs Express entry

can someone explain to me the difference between these two programs.
i'm finding a hard time to tell the pros and cons for each one of them.

Simple explanation: They're interconnected (assuming you are talking about the Federal Skilled Worker program), and you essentially apply to both at the same time.

FSW determines that you are ELIGIBLE to apply for PR.

Express Entry determines WHEN you can apply for PR (ITA).
