My lady friend who had worked in Saudi since 1997 had applied for skilled worker immigrant last July 2007. Days ago (4 Aug 2010), she received a letter dated April 29,2010 from CIC London advising that her application did not meet the requirements:( . The officer said that a letter was sent to her asking for more documents way July 2009. The said letter is good for 120 days. The problem is that this letter was not received by her (welcome to K S A). She was only aware of the requirements just now.

When we called CIC Canada explaining the situation, they advised to contact CIC London thru email requesting them to re open the application file which is currently closed. And then offer them that all documents will be sent right away once the file will be opened.

The question here really is that, does anybody think that the said file will be re opened? Answers and comments please...

On the hindsight, I do not think this is fair to the applicant if this will not be re opened...

If you assure them that your really didnt receive that mail then they might open it but the chances are very low but still better to give it a go.

Hi Entheos,

My husband experienced almost the same as your friend's case... his letter from CIC London dated Nov. 12, 2008 was received by him 1 month after the deadline. So what he did was... he emailed CIC London at once & explained the scenario, & he even faxed the same letter on same day to make sure that the CIC officers will be able to read it. He put in the letter that he has been waiting for so long already & he won't let go the opportunity of immigrating to Canada. He promised that he'll send the docs within 1 month. They did not respond to my husband's email but he anticipated that they will allow him so he sent the docs within 1 month as promised. So tell your friend to email the CIC London, explain what really happened & convince them that she really wants to pursue with the application, promise them that she'll send the docs asap or within 1 month. They might not respond to her email as well but just comply with the requirements. Who knows they will give her second chance?

Good luck to your friend :)

Oh Canada!,

Thank you for sharing your experience. Was your husbands visa pushed through? I suspect yes!!!

She already emailed her response last week and at the same time posted it through FEDEX. Further communications to CIC London may follow in the next few weeks to let them know that my friend is really hoping to immigrate to Canada.
