Myself and my fiancee originally got a years work permit from Ireland. Our years visa was up at the end of June 2010. We applied for lmo and extension of work permit before this was up which gave us implied status. We were sure the lmo process was going to be trouble free! Wrong... We had a family reunion in September which forced us to leave the country and re enter. We had trouble coming back into Vancouver.They took our passports and told us we were not allowed to work as our status had changed. In the meantime our boss got a lawyer on board and she re-advertised the job posting and dealt with application.We had a hearing every week since coming into the country to give them a progress review on the process of the lmo. Each week they deferred us until Service Canada would give us a decision. Last Sat. they gave of a deadline of a week for a decision or they would have to ask us to leave the country voluntarily at our own cost. The lawyer put the pressure on Service Canada this week. Finally today we got a decision but little and behold another refusal. We now find out they we should be going for a PNP rather than an LMO. Our problem now is that we have to meet Immigration on monday at the airport and they will ask us to leave the country. Does anybody know if the PNP process can be fast tracked for special cases?? Our wedding is looming next April and this really is a big worry as there is no work back in Ireland and we have 2 permanent jobs lined up here. Eoin is a Civil Engineer and his job is specialist but we have been very unlucky. Any advice would be very welcome!! Thanks
