Hi all,

Before asking you questions let me introduce you with my background.

NOC: 2173 Software Engineers and Designers

Age: 25 (10 points)
Education: Master degree + 17 years of full-time study (25 points)
IELTS: R-8.5, L-7.5, S-6.5, W-7.0 (16 points)
Experience: 2.5 years (17 points)

Total Points: 68

Can anyone tell me how much time generally it takes to get the finalized result(positive) after lodging file for skilled worker immigration? I have found that when you lodge you file from New Delhi (India) it takes minimum of 60 months (5 years) to get finalized result. Is it correct?

One more thing, does arranged employment reduce the processing time of skilled worker visa?

Thanks in advanced

The CIC link in your post is a timeline for Old Federal Skilled Worker Applications (received before 27-feb-2007). It does not apply to the applications made after Feb 2007. So if you were to apply now, the process should be faster, provided you otherwise qualify.

Seniors on the forum should be in a better position to answer your questions related to your NOC, etc.

Thank you very much square111 for you fast reply.

I am waiting for Senior members for their advice.

Nowadays Delhi takes about 6-12 months to process applications. There have been people who have been given PR within 4 months too. It all depends on the NOC category in demand too. New Delhi is a lot faster compared to other visa offices across the world. Also, some part is luck too. Generally, the process in CIC ND is very fast.

Hi all,

After some research I have also found a link, which states that some related NOC can also be considered in 38 high demand occupations.

http://www.canadavisa.com/federal-skilled-worker-requirements-may-soon-change.html

After going to above link

Please click on "0213 Computer and Information Systems Managers" link under heading "Qualifying Occupations for Federal Skilled Worker applications".

However, I could not found the official website stating the same. Is there any other source of information, which provide detailed information regarding this matter?

Software engineers are much in demand in Canada, as per my understanding. Then again, if a lot of software engineers fall in this category, your processing time will slow down. However, as per the new rules, all applications should be processed within 6-12 months. As far as ND goes, my understanding is that processing is faster there, irrespective of NOC.

Thank you very much MarkCan. If I find any confirmed news or information regarding this matter, I will surely tell you people.

Thanks once again to all people who helped me.

Keep up the good work... :)

NOC : 2173 doesnt directly makes you qualify under FSW, you have to have atleast one year's continuous experience under NOC : 0213(closer to ur 2173) to qualify for FSW and than you can claim further points for your experience in 2173.
CHC hasn't updated their timelines for applications under new rules, it's usually within year, no matter where you apply from.

i want to ask one thing. I have 3 yrs experience with NOC 0111. But before that i worked for 8 months in a non-38 list and 7 months in another NOC (0631).

So, when i will claim point, do we claim points for more than 4 years or 3 to 4 years?

I meant do i calculate non-38 NOC jobs as experience if i qualify for one of the NOC that had 3 yrs continuous exp?

Hi ahmadtajwer,

I understood your point. I have also consulted a lawyer on mail and found that I cannot apply right now but can increase my chance through job offer.
