Skilled Visa -- New NS list process v those who applied under the old system

Hi All, does anyone know what will happen to he applications under the old system? We applied in Jan08 - before the cutoff. Do we need to reapply under the new system to take advantage of the speeded processing? Thanks, Steve

nope, you do not need to re-apply. since you submitted your application before feb.27, 08, your papers will be processed under the old system. only those applications filed on or after feb.27, 08 will be affected by the new rules.

To add to the discussion, now that there seems to be an implicit concession by all the political parties that the new FSW regulations will stay in place regardless of the ruling party, can we expect the processing of new cases to really speed up this time round?
Does the suspension of parliament affect the processing of the new cases? It would appear that a few people on the forum who applied post Feb 27th and who do not fall under the new shortlist have already seen their online status changed to "decision made" which presumably means that their applications will be returned soon! Any thoughts Leon, BCGuy, PMM, etc.....
