Hello all,

I am a line cook (NOC 6322) - so I'm in the Skilled Trade Category.

I have over one year of experience in Canada and have created an EE account already + received an ITA.

I am a bit concerned however because the system does not recognise me as a Skilled trade worker. I am only in the CEC category.

I was wondering if one can be in the CEC with a skilled trade job.

the Skilled trade category says:
have at least two years of full-time work experience (which i have)
meet the job requirements (which I do)
have an offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least one year (I do but no LMIA)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers and happy weekend!

Is your employer name stated in your work permit? If such is the case you should be eligible.

Even so, you already have your ITA and CEC takes preference over FST, that is, if you're eligible for both you'll receive an ITA under the CEC program.

So CEC takes over FSTW even though my category/ job is in the skilled trade field?

My employer is on my work permit but I've just changed employers and did not get one year with him. I can however prove that I have been working over a year in Canada.

Thank you for your replies.

hi guys,
i really need to know about this matter because it's going to effect my application is under skill trades
the question is: should i count experience foreign in the past 10 years or just in the past 5 years? because i been in Canada in the previous 5 years and i have more then 2 years experience but if add foreign experience it gives more points?
thank you
