In Canada taxi drivers make 2-3000 pm, truck drivers make $ 5-6000 pm, Canadians do not see these jobs as a lower end jobs. TTC bus operators make $7-9000 per month. Crane oparators take home $ 85 per hour. Garbage picker make $ 30 per hour, canada post dispatcher make $27 per hour, and seriously people from these jobs a lot of time make more money than office workes and no disrespect in doing these jobs over here except in the numerous posts started in this forum where members think these are menial jobs.
If required immigrants can do these jobs as survival jobs and the move to their own occupation.

Very good information Sir. Can you please provide a link for this information if available?

Dear explorer, To put it simple.....Canada is importing labour with high intellect! .....There is ofcourse no harm in doing hard work and odd jobs but it is a bit unfair to people who spent a lifetime studying , becomming doctors or engineers, getting PHD's or whatever their professions were. I believe there is a big gap between the immigration department and the policy makers and licencing authorities. If they need so many skilled workers why don't they ammend certain policies....create bridging programs so the new immigrants who were the cream of their own societies can easily blend in their system....give them tough training or whatever it takes to make them meet ' their ' high standards. There are ofcourse success stories but from what I'm gathering ....Its NOT a bed of roses!

Well said. Some of the so-called seniors here are prone to spreading misinformation or disinformation.
