Hello Friends,

I have studied bachelor's in engineering from home country (India) and master's in international marketing from foreign land (France). Also, I have worked for almost six years in the fields of recruitment and marketing.

Now, I am thinking to pursue distance learning three months certification (by IBM) into data science field.

Under Skill Transferability factors, there is something called "Certificate of qualification (for people in trade occupations)", it adds 50 points to the CRS final score.

Does this IBM certificate add 50 points to my CRS score?

Thank you,

As far as I know,
  • CLB9 + 3+ years of experience = 50 points
  • CLB9 + Bachelor's degree + Any recognized diploma, certificate or degree = 50 points
This gives a 100 points towards skills transferrability and this is the maximum one can get.

You have a master's (Just need a master's ECA), you have 3+ years of experience; just need a CLB9 in first language to gain the max points. A minimum CLB5 in second language grants points towards language factors.

English and French are the two languages, one can choose first and second language by their preference.

Thank you for your valuable input. It gives far better clarity than other sources.

NO

This certificate is for provincial qualification.

So, it works only for PNP process not for Express Entry?
If you are a plumber, and you have a plumbing certificate from ontario, then this counts as a qualification
