Hi, i am unwed single mother, could anyone please help me on documents required to move to Canada with my son who is 1.5 years old. There is no father's name on birth certificate of my son. Do I still need any decree from court regarding the custody? Thank you in advance.

I am applying for PR and to process my son's application as my dependent.

I would research daycare costs if you are moving as a single parent. In Toronto you can pay $1800/month. Would imagine the same in Vancouver.

But maybe she is eligible to get a subsidy from the BC government to offset the costs.

Not sure where she is moving but often there are long wait lists for subsidized spots so you can't count on a subsidy when arriving in Canada. Many are surprised by the high cost of daycare so just trying to win her.

Please I have the same issue...did you need any further documentation given that the father's name wasn't on the birth certificate....was any further question asked...
