Single entry visa to US and then return to Canada

Hello everybody from Toronto..I've been here for almost three weeks and in about 4 days i want to cross the border and enter the US (I have US multiple entry visa 10 years duraation) but i have single entry for Canada..I've heard that its possible to return even if its a single entry TRV.
Should i cancel my trip?

Yes, if you can show the border officer you have return ticket to your home country.

Thank you all..I just came back from NYC and i didnt have any problem at the border.
