Hi everyone!

I know most of the applicant here are sponsoring their family (husband and kids) but as a single applicant like me, I wish to petition my parents when I get my PR application. Is that possible to petition them since I don't have husband and kids yet? If so, what specific visa or term of sponsoring do I need to apply? Thank you in advance

Yes - you can sponsor your parents for PR if you and they meet the requirements. Note that the cap for parent / grandparent sponsorship applications has already been reached for this year. So the soonest you will be able to apply is next year. You will need to meet income requirements and they will need to pass a medical for the file to be approved. You can find more information here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/parents.asp

Main requirement to sponsor parents is to meet last 3 consecutive years showing Canadian income taxed through CRA, that meets LICO level for parents.

So to apply in January 2015, you would need to show CRA returns for tax years 2011, 2012 and 2013.

The OP "landed" in Nov/13, so probably won't be eligible until at least Nov/16.

Unless they were working for previous years on work permits.

In my case, I am under work permit and is eligible for Open visa and PR. Which way is faster, including them on my PR application for dependents or wait until I get my PR and sponsor them later?

They are not your dependents, so you can't include them in your own PR app.

Your ONLY choice is to sponsor them under parents program. And as i mentioned, before you can do this you will need to show 3 consecutive years of Canadian income meeting the necessary LICO amount. You can't sponsor them until then. How many years have you worked in Canada?
