All your information will be transferred over because you are the same person, just with a different SIN.

My SIN starts with a 7. I'm a citizen and it never changed since coming to Canada.

Because you’d have come a different route into the country . If you come via work permit , refugee claim you’d be assigned a 9 SIN. When a person transitions to being permanent in Canada , the 9 SIN changes to a SIN # corresponding to where you applied in Canada .
I was born in Canada , so subsequently my SIN assigned at the age of 12 has never changed

My SIN starts with a 5, I'm too a citizen and got a 9 when filed as non resident, and used the 5 again when filing as resident!

I went from 9 (when I was on a work visa) and got switched to 5 (Ontario) when I became a PR. As jddd mentioned, those two SIN numbers are tied together
