Should we include S.O.P under spp?

YES .. you must include a very strong SOP in your file, so you can satisfy or express your plans to visa officer that why you want to study in cananda. And how that course or study will help you in INDIA.
SOP is must for every case.

but i recently checked the website of cic, in which he checklist doest not include sop to file visa under spp

did you figure out what you did and did you apply with SOP?

SOP is not mandatory! There have been cases where student have received their permit without a SOP. I think its better if one does, as it explains your situation.

Yes that's right it's not even requested for cic... I included a small sop with my application because I felt like doing it.. It was not really extense though...

Then I realized through this forum that it is really helpful... I wish I had known it beforehand...

One thing is sure... The more the better
