Should we get our marriage registered for sons's citizebship certificate?

My wife is a Canadian citizen and we live in Karachi Pakistan. We just had a baby boy born in the city of Lahore. Following are my questions:

1. To apply for my son's Citizenship certificate, Do we first need to get our marriage registered with the Canadian Embassy/conselate? (Been married for around 2 years)
2. My son was born in Lahore( my mother in law lives here) but our permanant address and present address is Karachi. Should we apply for the son's citizenship certificate from Karachi, or Lahore?
