I've just learned that Visitor Extension takes about 136 days..

I already have submitted my application on Jan 6th, and was wondering why it's taking so long.
I had no idea that Visitor Extension from inland would take this long,
since I've been a student and a worker before, with only about 1 month maximum wait for each visa application.

Currently I'm stuck at "Final decision : Not Started" obviously because they are still working on the Sep, 2015 applications right now.

So what can I do now? I have everything prepared with my Common-law partner / sponsor, and I'm sitting here with an expired Visitor visa...
What can I do in this situation? There's no way I can apply for PR safely, without the Visitor Visa, is there?

If you're applying outland (which you can do from inside Canada via visitor extensions like I'm doing) you can go ahead and do your application. While your visitor extension is in there, you have "implied status" meaning you're in Canada legally.

I don't see why you can't do your PR application, especially if it's all set. If you wait around for no reason you'll be kicking yourself later.
