30-11-2012!
My police certificates have all arrived and my file has been transferred to Manila visa office.

So I will send police certificates. Should I send more evidence now? The reason I'm thinking that is because I feel my evidence in the application package is not strong. We have genuine common-law partner relationship but we never thought of collecting evidences for the applications.

What I submitted are the following:

  • Common-law partner declaration
  • lease agreement for 6 months (then he purchased a condo and I moved in with him)
  • Proof of addresses
  • Joint tax return
  • Notarized letter from his parents
  • email messages (not too many since we live together as opposed to the couples of long-distant)
  • phone/text bills
  • Expense sharing (we keep records of expenses to share)
  • Car purchase agreement with both names
  • a few photos (we are not into taking pictures of ourselves and we did not have any special occasions to do so)

At the time we sent application, we had lived together for over 2 years and with proof 16 months, we did not have a joint bank account, joint bills such as electricity or cable, and we did not have any ceremony as our relationship evolved progressively.

Now we have opened a joint bank account, my name is on the bills, and have collected more pictures.

Should I send them now together with my police certificates or should I wait for now until they request?

Appreciate your advise!

Hey AnaMaria,

it seems like you already have quite a few proofs... but if you are going to send the police certificates anyway, you might as well send the extra proofs... at least that's my opinion! but of course - it's only my opinion.

Maybe you can include a cover letter explaining that you collected more proofs of the relationship and would like to submit them.
Some applicants are asked for more proofs, and asked to show that the relationship has developed in the time of waiting for the sponsorship to come through... so maybe it's good to send them already.

The way I see it - you have nothing to loose by sending in extra proofs, and something to gain if it can convince the VO faster or easier... so I think I would send the extra proofs, especially if it makes you feel more secure in your application - just for your peace of mind it might be worth it!

Manilla is a fast VO so you should get news pretty soon...

Good luck with your application,
Cheers,
Sweden

Thanks. That's what I thought :). Nothing to lose.
