Hi guys, my husband and I are going through PR currently, application is active, he has been approved my sponsor and medicals have been received.

We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary, taking a trip to Denver CO, having hot air balloon ride, etc...was great! But now I am back in Texas and he had to go back home. Im super depressed, waiting for this to be approved.

The only thing is I was rejected from entering Canada a few years ago before we were married, and so that has been the issue that has not allowed me to visit him long term like others, and appeal for longer stay.

My question is do we risk rejection if I go to the border before approved for my PR...It is a long distance to go from Texas to the border to be rejected! But 1 year married and only a few weeks of visits is just sad.

When you say that you were previously `rejected' at the border, what do you mean exactly?

Were you simply denied entry, or...were you denied entry and issued an Exclusion Order, preventing you from returning to Canada until it expires?

If it's the former, there's no reason why you can't try again...especially with an active PR application that has been received by CIC.

Your question was addressed in your previous thread. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/so-many-issues-and-all-we-have-is-time-t267752.0.html;msg3974770#msg3974770

your situation is different now. you are married now. cbsa has a different expectation of you now. you know the rules and have a pr applicaiton submitted now. you are not going to just be denied entry because you have a pr application. you will be denied entry if you don't follow the rules. you are following the rules. chill out. stop assuming because you had 1 bad experience it will repeat itself. each entry is different. have you even tried to enter canada at all since being married or do you just sit around imagining the worst because you read stories of people who you don't even know and have nothing to do with you?

Just denied entry Ponga.

Thanks Canuk, Im sorry for repeating stuff.

Rhcohen you are right, the issue is that if I was rejected it is a long trip back to Texas lol.

just stop being so paranoid, follow the rules, be prepared, and you'll be fine. the answer isn't going to change so stop trying to convince yourself of something that's total nonsense. how about actually trying it and seeing how easy it is compared to what you've made up in your head? you are truly making it more difficult and stressful than it needs to be.

Agreed...especially with sponsor approval!

Remember...fear is [usually] nothing more than a Fantasized Experience Appearing Real.

Go on...go see your hubby! ;)

I think it would be fair for you to try again. To tell you to "stop being paranoid" isnt going to help. Of course you are going to worry. Not only that, but being in Texas, thats VERY far from the Canadian border and a lot of wasted time and money and frustration goes into that if rejected, so of course its going to be a big stress on you. But, the only way to find out is to try. Just make sure you have a back up plan for in case you are turned back. Wishing you luck!
