Should I pay the Biometrics fee just in case

Hi, I am a PR living in Canada and about to sponsor my wife from India. I have put together all application and is expecting to mail it by 27 th Dec from Toronto to Sydney. I hope it will reach by 31st Dec 2018 through Canada post express service

When I checked the Biometrics requirements for Indian citizens the IRCC site said for Indian Citizens that

"You don’t need to give your biometrics right now."

"However, starting December 31, 2018, you’ll need to give your biometrics when you submit a new application for a visitor visa, study or work permit or for permanent residence."

My questions are,
1. Since I am applying so close to this deadline, should I pay the Biometric fee just in case package reaches late, will there be some grace period like a week ?

2. Will paying the biometric fee make the visa officer think that my wife should take biometrics even if application reaches before Dec 31 2018 ?

3. If I dont pay the fee and the application reaches after Dec 31 2018. Is there a way to pay it later ?


I honestly don't mind paying the Biometric fee of 85CAD. But I dont want the immigration officer to think that since I paid the biometric fee, let my wife go for biometrics even if the application reaches before Dec 31. She has to travel far just to give the biometrics and no one to to accompany her

Thanks for your reply. Did you mean you would pay the full fee including biometric fee ? or pay without biometric fee and wait for them to ask for it ?
