Hi Everyone!

I am currently living in Toronto, have been living in Canada since August 2001, and finished my second university degree in Canada in August and obtained a 3 Year Post Grad Open Work Permit in September.

I am currently job hunting with no luck as yet.

Here are my details:

- I have been living in Canada for over 8 years and currently live in Toronto
- I hold a Post Graduate Open Work Permit valid for 3 years (Sept 2012)
- I have Two Canadian university degrees at the Bachelor's level AND at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study (Queens University & University of Toronto)
- English is my first official language
- I am 26 years old (moved to Canada at 18 years of age)
- I have a brother who is a Permanent Resident currently living and working in Toronto
- My last degree was in Medical Radiation Sciences (Nuclear Medicine Technology) and I am registered in Canada to work as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist which falls under the NOC category 3215.

My question is, even though I do not have the required 1 years work experience as I am a new graduate, what are my chances of obtaining Permanent Residence right now.

I have noticed that you can apply for PR under Federal Skilled Worker even as a international student or foreign worker (Category 3).

Should I apply? What should I apply under?

Thanks guys

Your Profile looks good for FSW-3. If you want to apply for PR go ahead and apply under FSW-3

No Ankit, for FSW-3, applicants still need at least 1 year of experience in a skilled occupation. It doesn't have to be in Canada, but it has to be within the past 10 years.

Get your 1 year of experience, then you can apply through the CEC program...

1. According to the eligibility criteria, your application is eligible for processing if:

* you have an offer of arranged employment, OR
* you are a foreign national who has been living legally in Canada for one year as a temporary foreign worker or an international student, OR
* you are a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience* in one or more of the occupations listed here.

You seem to match up the #2 bullet quite well since you have been an international student for well over a year.

Take a job anywhere, any farm that you know. make network with your friends and relatives, one or more of them surely have a job to offer you. have exp for a yr, and then apply
