Hello,

I've applied for Permanent Residency under the CEC last year. On April 28th 2015 I received the -Ready for Visa- Passport request email. I sent my passport to Ottawa and it arrived on May 4th. My application status on the CIC website appears as Decision Made.

My current valid work permit expires on June 9th so my question is: should I apply to extend my work permit in case I don't get the passport back before that? or should I just wait for the passport?

Thanks for your help!

My friend,

There is no point for 3 reasons:

1. If you apply today you very likely than not won't get your BOWP before your WP expiry date
2. The VO most probably will advise you that a BOWP is not required in your case
3. You will get your passport back with your PR before a VO touches your application

You should get you passport back any day but I do suggest that you email CIC and tell them that your WP is expiring soon.
