Hi all,

I am in a hurry to get all my residency paperwork in by April 1, my birthday, when I will lose points because of my age. I began to look at the residency paperwork last week, and felt quite intimidated by it. I have contact with an immigration lawyer in Montreal who a few friends have used and who is great.

I currently live and work in Montreal, on a NAFTA visa, which is valid for 3 years.

My question: Do you know if the immigration agents look negatively on someone who uses a lawyer? Will my application possibly be delayed due to this?

I would rather *not* spend $3000 on a lawyer...but really want to get the residency done ASAP.

Any thoughts much appreciated!!!

Hi

No there is no negative impact if you use lawyer but even if you use the lawyers you yourself will have to gather all the documetns so it will take the same time if you use the lawyer or not use the lawyer, as i can see from your post that you are just in hurry submit all documents and thats the only reason you want to hire the lawyer so why paying $3000 when you will still be gathering docs.
I would suggest you to do it by youself.

Cheers
Saki
