Hello everyone, please I need help with my situation.
I submitted my EE profile on August 28, 2025. For the work experience part, I put 30 hours a week for 12months, without checking the exact hours on my paystubs, which made me eligible for ECE.
After receiving the ITA yesterday, I calculated the hours on my paystubs for those 12 months, and found out I’m short for a little over 200hours to meet the 1560 hours requirement. The reason is that some weeks I didn’t work for 30 hours, and also there’s some unpaid leave, therefore I don’t have the total hours needed.
What should I do now? Should I decline it? Or should I try to accumulate more hours before the 60 days deadline to see if I can get the hours needed. Meanwhile, I’m currently a casual staff with my employer, so not sure if I’ll be able to work everyday and get 30 hours a week. Even if I get the hours needed eventually before the date, I’m worried that the officer would consider my eligibility at the time of ITA as well as misrepresentation of work hours, which could cause a more serious impact on my future applications.
If I decline it, I’m afraid there won’t be another Education draw this year, not sure when they will do another draw next year. That means I need to wait for at least another year to send PR application. But I really don’t want to risk it and end up getting rejected or banned for 5 years in the worst case scenario if they deem the inaccurate work hours as misrepresentation.
Please kindly share your thoughts and suggestions, thank you so much in advance
