Hello everyone,

I am currently in the EE pool with CRS of 471 for Federal Skilled Worker programme. Plan to move to Ontario from Scotland if PR is successful.

my question is, with the score that I currently have, should I consider going for the Ontario Province Nomination route? Obviously I don’t want to spend $1500 to apply for this if I don’t need too but I will if I miss out on express entry draws.

Should I hold off and hope the next EE draws are more favourable and the score required is less than my 471, or just apply to PNP for Ontario? I don’t want to apply for PNP and pay 1500 then the following month the CRS cut off is 460, or is this just the risk I take.

Any advice? Any would be appreciated.

thank you

I think that is a decent score and personally I would just hang in there.

In my view, if inflow of candidates remain as it is, and the gap between all program draws remain a month, it’s highly unlikely that the score would drop to 471 before December at least. If that time frame looks ok to you, then you could wait.

Have you received an Ontario NOI already? If so, I’d absolutely use it and not risk the possibility that CRS might never drop to 471. It’s not that farfetched a possibility. Over the last 15 months, a guaranteed score for an invite has gone from 450 to 460 to 470 and now 475. Canada immigration is just intensely competitive right now.

Hi,

I have not received a NOI yet, I have only completed the normal EE profile to get the CRS score so far.

I mean I can apply for the Ontario PNP to get the NOI, but 1500 is a lot when it might drop below 471 next month. ill prob give it another month, and if I miss out on next months draw then I’ll just have to pay and go with the PNP to get the extra 600 points.

cheers

Ok.. Ontario generally calls candidates based on their NOCs and CRS to give NOIs. I’m not sure if there’s an application process that exists for one to apply directly.

I second what @ns317 has said. With doors closed or fast closing elsewhere, it is a no brainer if you get a PNP nomination. I would look at the 1500 dollars in context.
After all the money you have spent and would spend, would you risk it all for a processing fee?

Thanks for the reply’s everyone. I think I will ultimately try to go down the pnp route although I will leave it for another month. Never know, might get lucky that the score drops next month.

thanks again

You cannot pay OINP to get NOI, they have to send NOI to your EE profile first and after that only you can apply for a nomination.

Ok I must have misunderstood the steps involved. I thought that I create my EE profile, then I create a profile and apply to be nominated through Ontario’s EE page.

Thank you, so it’s just a waiting game hoping that my NOC matches what they are looking for that month, and only if I receive a NOi in my EE profile And choose to proceed with it then I pay the 1500 fee and they will process my for PNP. Is that right?

Correct. NOC's they invite do not change, check the draws that happened on 29th July and August 26th, if your NOC is listed in them, you might receive NOI in a future draw.
