Hello,

I am 35 year old, married and have 8 year old kid. I am currently working in Canada on a closed work permit.
Should I apply for a PR? I am 10+ years experienced in IT field with good technology background.

Your question is a bit confusing. Whether you should apply for PR depends on whether you want to become a permanent resident of Canada. You're the only one who can answer that question.

If what you are really asking is if you would qualify for PR - that's a different question. Have you determined how many points you have under Express Entry?

No I am not asking about whether I can qualify for PR. I am confused about weighing an opportunity in Canada Vs India. Sorry if my question has confused. I am actually looking for an answer from an individual who is in similar situation. I can rephrase the question if you want.

This is a question that only you can answer based on your personal priorities. I was also a closed work permit holder from India. I didn't have any hesitation to apply for Permanent residency.

Agreed given the OP has the advantage of already being in Canada so has experience of the lifestyle, cost of living, health coverage and job market , plus potential future for the child. This unlike many who come on here who are still in India asking the same question but without the OPs advantage. Only the OP can really decide but given the advantage most here would say go for it given what is there to lose apart from the fees plus having got this far why go backwards.
