Short-term cheap accommodation in Toronto for bachelor

Hello! I was wondering if it is possible to get a room for bachelor in Toronto within $600 per month? I will be landing in August for good in Toronto. Kijiji has very few options, and I did not find much choices for immigrants elsewhere. I do not want to spend too much initially, without getting a job. Any help or guidance would be extremely appreciated.

$600 for a basement bachelor isn't unheard of, but be sure that the conditions will be terrible.
