Hello Everyone,
I have a quick question, i have received COPR and our tickets to Calgary are booked for 12th June however I foresee urgent work & I might have to return to Mumbai by 16th June. My immigrants Visa is valid till 2nd July.
I don't want to cancel my tickets dated 12th July as the cancellation cost would be a lot hence I can drop my family and come back. I plan to return to Canada by 30th June.
- Is this okay and if yes, will I get my PR card within 2-3days of my stay in Calgary (13th- 15th June) ?
- Else what is the documentation do I show on my return to Canada on 30th June ?
-Can I return to Canada Post 2nd July post expiry of my Immigrants Visa ?
-Do also let me any other points that I need to remember if I have to opt for this plan ?
-Do also let me of government agency that I can reconfirm these details with ?
Seek your urgent assistance.

Sure you can fly to Canada June 12th complete your landing and leave back to Mumbai June16 without issue people do this all the time even though they might not say outright to CBSA at the time, they land , leave in a few days and eventually return in a few weeks or a few years. The latter as long as they still plan to meet the 2 years out of 5 residency.

Not that I am aware of flight schedules but assume you are maybe not able to take a direct flight from Mumbai to Calgary so will complete landing formalities at the first POE so keep in mind for any connection time.

You will not get your PR card in 2-3 days as an initial card will take at least 8 weeks so you will need to apply for a PRTD whilst in India to be able to board a plane back. Although I have no idea on processing times for a PRTD in India 2 weeks might be optimistic so maybe you need to assess why having taken the immigration step you really need to return for such a short time.

Although your COPR expires July 2 that is not relevant once you have completed your initial landing given you will be recorded in the system as a landed PR entitled to enter Canada, the July 2 date is simply must land by date.

All you need then to travel to Canada is a PR card or a PRTD , without either you would need to travel via a US land border assuming you have a US visa , your COPR will show CBSA you are a landed immigrant but is no use post landing for boarding a plane for Canada.

Hi,

Not sure if this is already answered, My friend recently got his PR and is doing short landing.

Will he be requested for any documents back to India by Immigration officer?

If yes, what's the way out since he will not have his PR card when returning back to india.

No documents needed to return to India.

Sounds like the rest of your family will remain in Calgary until you return. They can courier your PR card to you in India to avoid needing a PRTD.
