Shlould I hire a lawyer to sponser my spouse?

Hello everyone!

Should I hire a lawyer to sponser my spouse (OUTLAND)?

I am a canadian citizen living in Ontario willing to sponser my wife (no kids) who’s living in the United Arab Emirates, do I need to hire a lawyer or should I proceed with the application directly?

Im confused wether to do it on my own or not. I just don’t want things going in the wrong direction which might cause delay in any way.

Any thoughts and tips would be highly appreciated!

It's really your choice. Most people here do it on their own. However if you do it on your own - you need to be prepared to do more work and research.

It's not necessary to hire a lawyer, in fact there have been many cases found on here where lawyers were found to give incorrect advice but on the flip side for many cases lawyers have helped people with unusual or difficult cases. It can be very expensive but it's your choice if you think you need some assistance.

Unless you have a very tricky case or there are some obvious bumps you will hit along the way (ie legal issues, convictions etc) I would say you don't need a lawyer to navigate this process.

I see more people having issues doing it through a lawyer than themselves to be honest.
