So I'm seriously proposing that CIC starts offering a rush-service option for Express Entry ITA applicants... For example if you pay $750, they will guarantee a decision in 6 weeks or under...

Think about it... This would actually create new jobs, because CIC would need to hire more immigration agents to handle all the rush orders... It will also create additional revenue for CIC, right? Probably millions of dollars

Folks who can't handle the stress of the waiting, or who have instant gratification issues (I can be both haha) can choose to spend $750 (if they can afford to) for some peace of mind... I honestly think it's a good and sound idea! Just sayin'!

:)

This would mean getting a dedicated case officer assigned immediately on submitting all docs. Wonder if the timelines can actually be squeezed so much. BG check, financial checks etc do take time. Interesting idea though. $750 will probably be too less as most people might apply for it and cause this route to also get choked.

Going by the logic if you don't meet any criteria, just pay 7500 instead and get through. Even more revenue :)

People in the Middle East pay CAD 5,000 -6,500 just for consultant fees... plus the usual application fees of CAD 2,080 (assuming 2 people.. even more for families).. so CAD 750/- is peanuts... it needs to be atleast CAD 2-3,000/- , otherwise too many people will do it..

Exactly, even these consultants don't know the ABC of Express Entry System. They are living in their own paper typing world.

2-3,000 is reasonable amount ;D

$750 isn't nearly enough (this is very very little money by Canadian standards). Right now the fees paid by applicants don't even come close to covering the costs of processing applications (most is paid by Canadian tax payers). I you want expedite processing and more focus placed on your application, I think you would be looking in the range of $10K+ for this proposal to be reasonable.

Thumbs up bro for such awesome suggestion. I hope CIC takes your suggestion seriously and start this new line :D

besides, Express Entry is their rush service. People who applied on the old system are now looking at a 2 year+ wait.

So from the responses, it actually sounds like an OK idea... perhaps a more reasonable price of that rush service would probably be $3,000 CAD per adult applicant. I'll make sure to email the suggestion to the next Citizen and Immigration minister :)

Oh .. feeling sooo sorry. I missed the chance of suggesting this to the MPs in the last couple months who walked into minorities worship homes et al explaining their stance and asking for opinions / questions etc. Basically trying to gather votes for elections.
