My friend is applying for FSW
Age was 49 when CIo Nova scotia received the application but now its 50 and she hasnt send documents to new delhi
Does she claim 10 or 8 points???
Her IELTS score came out as 5.5in listening, reading, writing and 6.0 in speaking
So, she can claim only 8 points if I am right
This leads her to 68 points if her age points are 10
and 66 points if her age points are considered 8
I am in confusion whether to ask her to take IELTS again as we do not have much time remaining
Or I am in Canada and I could request someone who could get AEO from HRSDC for some kind of job here for her
Does anyone know of any employers - I am ready to pay for expenses to get HRSDC approved job offer
She has 2 months to submit documentation to New Delhi
Please help seniors
Thanks

there is a post on CIC which talks about lock-in date. I think that would give you more information on what the lock in date for a FSW applicant is. If the lock in date is the date it arrived at CIO, then she gets 10.

Hi rupeshhari
Can u please send me a link to the post?
Is it on Cic website?
I read on cic website: the date when full application is received is the lock in date
does it mean full application received @ nova scotia or full application with complete documentation received @ local cic
I want yr help to confirm points before sending all documentation to new delhi
She has bachelors degree with 15 years of full time education - does this offer 20 or 22 points
Please help

1. From the processing manual

"The application should be date stamped upon receipt. Please note however, the application
received date in CAIPS will remain as entered at the CIO. This date will also serve as the lock-in
date"

2. 1 Bachelor degree 20 points.

PMM

Lock-in-date is the date when CIO receives your complete application with Fee.

Thanks PMM.

jckdry - i dont know the link but like PMM said, its in the processing manual. Good luck.

I am gaining confidence that they will award 10 points for the age
As the date stamped @ CIO Nova scotia was 15 days before her 50th birthday
the email from FSW nova scotia states :

"Dear Madam:
We have received your application for permanent residence in Canada in the Federal Skilled Worker Class on 25 May 2009. "

and her birthday is 10 June 1959

And age 49 leads to exactly 68 points - If everything is positive she is saved by a narrow margin
Thanks to all seniors for the help

10.13 Age

Pursuant to R81, up to 10 points are awarded to an applicant who is at least 21 and less than 50
years of age at the time the application is made. Two points are subtracted, to a maximum of 10
points, for each year the applicant is less than 21 or over the age of 49.

From the above, award yourself 10 Points
