The scenario is as follows.

Mom and her 11 years son both will apply for citizenship soon. If they will not apply for citizenship together, so they will apply that separately. What will happen?

You may think about why they are wanted to apply separately. Because The child's passport will be expired in 2 months. Also, I heard that no citizenship and oath is no need for the under 12 years old, so citizenship progress will be done quickly for the child.

Is this way of application technically feasible? What is your advice on this matter?

If they want to apply separately, you will need to apply for minor under subsection 5(1). One of the requirement will be your minor meeting the physical presence requirement, see the link below for more information.

Yes, minors under 12 don't need to take test or oath but again your minor will need to meet the requirement for applying alone as mentioned above. How fast his application will be processed? Nobody can say in this covid-19 era.

Yes, it's feasible under subsection 5(1).

Expired passport has no impact. If the kid is with you here, you can add the kid to your application. Easier as the kid doesn’t need to have 1095 days in Canada. If kid applies separately from you, must meet 1095days in Canada.

I would suggest separetly. One forum member applied for minor in July 2020 and they got decision made. Good luck
