Separate citizenship application of mother and son

Yes, minors under 12 don't need to take test or oath but again your minor will need to meet the requirement for applying alone as mentioned above. How fast his application will be processed? Nobody can say in this covid-19 era.

Expired passport has no impact. If the kid is with you here, you can add the kid to your application. Easier as the kid doesn’t need to have 1095 days in Canada. If kid applies separately from you, must meet 1095days in Canada.

I would suggest separetly. One forum member applied for minor in July 2020 and they got decision made. Good luck
