Reading through the boards, I've seen people mentioning sending things like wedding albums and cards, etc as proof of their relationship when filing with immigration. Do people get these things back? I'm getting duplicate prints of our relationship photos to submit when we file, so I don't care about those. But I'd really hate to lose all the Valentines and anniversary cards my fiance has sent me over the years. Will these be returned to us? Is there an acceptable way to submit copies of cards?

Some people do get their stuff back, but it seems most people don't. Husband and I just submitted photocopies of all the cards and other stuff we wanted to keep (concert tickets, etc.), and had no problems. I know many others who have done the same... copies are fine :)

Thanks! I'll be sure to increase the photocopying budget accordingly! I'd much rather put money into the photocopies and have all the wonderful cards and letters my fiance has given me over time :)

Quick follow up questions, please could you tell me: Did you photocopy the front of the cards or just the insides? And if you copied the front did you do so in color or black and white?

I photocopied front and inside...and used black and white.......

We did exactly as KJG. Both sides, black & white.
