Hi,

Yes. There have been cases with forum members who have got visa even after long years of study gap. One case, I recall was of forum member named -dubaitotoronto, who is originally from India but applied from Dubai as he was working there for a long time. You have to remember that... The decision on an application for a Canadian study permit will completely be based on one's individual application package. Usually good academic record ( especially marks of last major degree) , proper course selection (preferably showing progression in same field) consistent profile (even if study gap..it should ideally be covered by relevant work ex.), sufficient proof of funding and a decent IELTS score is seen as a standard benchmark to get the Canadian study permit. There may be more requirements, depending upon the citizenship of one's country.
