1. I am a family of 5 members, can i apply alone initially with an intention to see whether my applicatiob gets through. And once i get the positive results, i apply for my family aswell. This way i shall be saving application fee of my 4 family members that might get wasted if i dont qualify and apply collectively as full family one time.
2. If the aboce is practicable, would i be able to claim education points for my spouse while applying alone initially.
3. I am a mechanical engineer and have to choose one NOC out of compulsory 29 occupations. NOC 7216 fits perfect for me as far as the job details / responsibilities are concerned but being a qualified Mechanical engineer i am bit overqualified for that NOC.Can i still claim my experience points under that NOC. Please do clarify this issue as i am reluctant to launch my application because of this confusion so far.
4. When we talk about Fast Track immigration, does that mean that there is some other immigration process also going on. If so, what is the main difference between these two and are there seperate application forms for these two, meaning that if i want to apply under fast track i should fill one while if i want to apply under other process i should fill other.
5. Can we expect a change in NOC's in near future and one who does'nt feel comfortable with present NOC should wait.
6. Is one supposed to live in Canada without any break for three years in order to claim for the Citizenship or he may act otherwise !

Thanks

Yes you can apply alone but you will still have to show the POF for 4 members. If youre file is returned by CIC you will get a refund.

2. If the aboce is practicable, would i be able to claim education points for my spouse while applying alone initially.
No she needs to be in the application to claim points.

To apply for FSW you must choose an NOC from the 29 List.

4. When we talk about Fast Track immigration, does that mean that there is some other immigration process also going on. Fast Track just mean that you will get a decision in 12 months but these days some visa offices are taking more than that.

5. Can we expect a change in NOC's in near future and one who does'nt feel comfortable with present NOC should wait.
Not so soon.

6. Is one supposed to live in Canada without any break for three years in order to claim for the Citizenship or he may act otherwise !

No

Thanks

Thanks a lot saki but i will appreciate if you could elaborate on the given answers a bit for better understanding.
1. If youre file is returned by CIC you will get a refund.
This can only happen if i submit an incomplete application. You mean being a family of 5 if i apply alone CIC may retun my application with a refund os deposited fee.
2. No she needs to be in the application to claim points.
Ok, in that case can i apply for myself and my wife only, excluding the kids from application just so save their application fee.
3. To apply for FSW you must choose an NOC from the 29 List.
That is fine but my question was different.Just be specific to what i have enquired !
4. Fast Track just mean that you will get a decision in 12 months but these days some visa offices are taking more than that.
What i have understood from your reply is that FSW means your profession should be among the 29 NOC list + you get decision faster.Does that mean that if we dont have any profession among 29 NOC, still we can apply but our application will be treated under normal mode and NOT the fast mode.If it is so, are there different application fees for both of these modes.

Thanks

You will get a refund if youre application is returned by CIC either because of incomplete forms or you dont meet the criteria and also you can ask for refund until your application is not "in-process" at visa office once processing is started you cant then apply for refund. With the family of 5 i meant to say that even if you apply alone which you can you will still have to show Proof of Funds for 5 members so why not include them into the application as well? it will be $550 for spouse and $150 for kids.

2. No she needs to be in the application to claim points.
Ok, in that case can i apply for myself and my wife only, excluding the kids from application just so save their application fee.
Again kids application fee is only $150 why exclude them for just few hundred dollars and also you will need to give a solid reason of not including them in application if you just include your spouse.

As long as you have a required job experience you are good to apply dont worry about being overqualified.

If you NOC does not fall under the list then you need a job offer from Canada to apply. Fast Track cam in 2008 because immigration was taking too many years to gie a decision on the files so they bring this Fast track that if you apply now we will process it at a fast track and you will get a decision in 12 months.

@saki

I appraciate your explanation and matter is much clearer to me now except the following !

3. As long as you have a required job experience you are good to apply dont worry about being overqualified.
You have just told that incomplete application / not meeting the crieteria will be returned and fee refunded. Now if i apply choosing a profession from list of 29 NOC's (for which i feel i am over qualified), and CIC is of the view that it does'nt fit aginst my qualifications, WILL MY APPLICATION BE RETURNED NOT MEETING THE CRIETERIA or this usually is decided at a later stage of processing in which case we can not expect any refund.

See there are people who applied for NOC without having any particular degree in that field for example there was 4131 and university lecturer applied in that NOC but they didnt had any qualification related to education but they have done through. CHC is more concerned about having the required experience if you have the qualification its a bonus but they dont refuse on the basis that you are simply over qualified and yes it is decided at the visa office not at first stage.
